Analog Diary: キッチン

Analog Diary: Kitchen,

When i was around twelve years old I read the novel キッチン (Kitchen) by Japanese author Banana Yoshimoto for the first time. By then i didn't speak English properly and the word Kitchen (title not translated to French) stayed in my head with a great impression. From that period i enjoyed spending time in Kitchen even more. Since we moved to that new flat, where we have an atelier big enough to paint and work, i realized that again late at night I often happen to be drawing in the kitchen and though the cozy sofa in the living room, i am often reading sitting in the old french school chair that leans against the kitchen table. The kitchen is the smallest room but some of my favorites things are there; a porcelain plate that belonged to my great-great grand-mother, Lemon one of my favorite book, a poster that we love from our friend and artist Ming Wong, cherished tea cups, an old Jamaican doll, photographs...
